Caring for the Whole Person

With ongoing treatment and support, people can lead long, healthy lives with HIV. It is important to take control, get into care early and make sure the body, mind and spirit are cared for.

We help our clients from the start of diagnosis with medical case management – linking them to various health care, financial assistance and social services. We also offer counseling, education, a pharmacy and resources needed to help them stay in care, manage their health and maintain stable housing and safe, comfortable lifestyles.

Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U): There is no cure for HIV, but it can be treated and controlled with daily antiretroviral medications (regimens). These medications should be prescribed by a qualified physician as quickly as possible, ideally when the immune system is still strong, in order to achieve the status of “undetectable” or viral suppression. Viral suppression happens when the medications have worked as effectively as possible to control the number of viral replications. When people reach and maintain undetectable levels, the virus cannot be transmitted sexually.

Other treatments that can improve comfort and wellness are integrative therapies (massage, acupuncture, aromatherapy, Reiki, meditation, etc.), dietary supplements, mental health counseling and support groups.
