Comprehensive Risk Counseling
Some people with HIV may struggle with substance abuse and other risky behaviors. They may experience physical, mental health, social and/or cultural conditions that may prevent optimal health outcomes. Our comprehensive risk counseling is designed to help these clients develop new healthy behaviors that improve their health and well-being and help prevent the spread of HIV within the community.
Our counselors provide an intensive, individualized approach to educating clients on how to change and reduce high-risk behaviors. They address our clients’ environments, psychosocial needs and behaviors to create individualized service plans with appropriate interventions. These interventions may include additional counseling, medical evaluations or community referrals.
Behavioral Health Counseling
Being diagnosed or living with HIV can be difficult. HIV may cause many physical, emotional, cognitive and relationship challenges. There is treatment available to support wellness. Our behavioral health counseling can help you regain control, maintain healthy treatment and behaviors, and improve quality of life for you and your loved ones. Counseling sessions are open to our clients, couples, families, peer-to-peer groups and anyone in the community with a NOE (Notice of Eligibility).
Mental Health
Caring for emotional well-being can lead to a healthy life with HIV. Our licensed mental health counselors bring comfort to participants through solution-focused treatment and referrals as needed. Clients may also seek outpatient counseling through referrals from our case managers, other community agencies or self- referrals.
Psychiatric Medication Management
HIV is a complex, chronic disease that requires a life-long commitment to medical treatment. Our advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) provides education to our clients to ensure proper combination of and adherence to HIV and other medications.
