Serving and Supporting LGBTQ Seniors

LGBTQ+ individuals often face many challenges as they age. Many are often invisible within mainstream and within their own LGBTQ communities. They are less likely to receive family support and assistance in meeting their financial, health and housing needs and more often experience significant physical and mental disparities compared to their non-minority counterparts.

EPIC Generations was created to respond to the unique challenges and needs of older LGBTQ+ residents in Pinellas County. The program provides peer phone calls, social activities and other support for these elders.

The diverse social events allow participants to experience local activities or simply enjoy meaningful conversations and companionship with like-minded individuals. All events are free to attend for LGBTQ+ seniors and allies regardless of HIV status and transportation is available upon request. View the event calendar here.

EPIC Generations’ Friendly Caller Program fosters multigenerational connections in the LGBTQ+ community by providing social connection and community service referrals through regular phone calls with trained volunteers. The goal of these regular phone calls is to alleviate stress and improve the overall health of our clients.
